Vernes F. Gallet

KAPLAN—Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 23, 2015 at a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Vernes F. Gallet, 84, who died Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. Reverend Matthew Barzare will be officiating the services.
Vernes F. Gallet was born on December 3, 1930 in Springhill / Nunez. Vernes was a business owner of Home Building Material for 43 years in the residential construction industry. He was a master carpenter and skilled woodworker following in the footsteps of his father who was a master carpenter.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Daveveene Gallet of Kaplan; one son, Joshua Gallet of Kaplan; one daughter, Charlotte and her husband, Dwain J. Broussard of Kaplan; one grandson, Rene Broussard; and one brother, Clenis Gallet and his wife, Hazel of Abbeville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Gallet and the former Olivia Cormier; and one sister, Eunice G. Bourque.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 9 a.m. until services.
