Third man arrested after two car accident in Abbeville

A third person has been arrested by the Louisiana State Police for a two car accident that occurred on Jan. 14 at the corner at Hwy. 167 and La. 14.
According to Master Trooper Brooks David with State Police said Quincy Landry, 22, of Lafayette, was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on five counts of felon in possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of a stolen firearm and one count of illegal possession of stolen things.
Landry was a passenger in the car chase involving State Police.
Landry was transported to a hospital following the crash and troopers arrested him when they learned he was about to be released, David said.
He remains in jail in lieu of a $37,500 bond.
Two other men, Paul Rice, 23, and Jamirah Petrey, 26, were arrested following the crash when authorities found five guns, two of which were stolen, inside the 2015 Chevy Malibu that crashed in Abbeville.
A trooper tried to initiate a traffic stop on La. 167, north of Abbeville, but the driver, Rice, allegedly did not pull over and sped away until he collided with another vehicle at an intersection.
After the crash, troopers found one AK-47, two AR-15s, two pistols, six magazines and one mask inside the car.
David said the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are possible.
