Walter Paul Lessin, Jr.

ABBEVILLE — A Celebration of Life for Walter “Bodine” Paul Lessin, Jr. (54) will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Faith Hope Christian Fellowship, 405 Duroq St., Abbeville.
Pastor B.K. Stevens will officiate the service.
Interment will follow in Pleasant Green Church Cemetery (Green Street Location)Visitation will begin at the church on Saturday beginning at 8:00 AM until time of the services.
Walter Paul Lessin, Jr. affectionately known as “Bodine” was born December 23, 1959 in Lafayette, LA to the union of the late Walter Paul Lessin, Sr. and Gracie Rankin Lessin.
Walter was a lifelong resident of Abbeville, LA where he dedicated his life serving and caring for others. He was a very humble man who never changed on anyone. He loved genuinely. In his younger days, he enjoyed being a DJ and playing softball. Bodine (Bobby) had a special gift of cutting hair. He also loved to dance but most of all EAT.
He was preceded in addition to his parents by his paternal grandparents; maternal grandparents, Jenkin Rankin and Annie Mae Levine Rankin; and two siblings, Leonard Rankin and Shirley Lessin Charles Rankin, Walter departed this earthly life on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 in Abbeville, LA.
Walter leaves to cherish his memory, four children, Walter Jermaine Levy, Montiee Ontrion Lessin, Trevor Ahmad Lessin and Walter Paul Lessin, III, all of Abbeville, LA; a special companion, Naomi Jackson of Abbeville, LA; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Lloyd (Rose) Rankin, Sr .of Maurice, LA and Danny Rankin, both of Abbeville, LA; a special aunt, Mary Demouchet of Abbeville, LA, one uncle, Herman Rankin of Gulfport, MS; one aunt, Ethel (Jake) Harris, of Abbeville, LA ; three godchildren, Leslie (Jerry) Plowden, Kevin (Katrina) Stewart, all of Abbeville, LA and Taijah Rankin of Nunez, LA as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
