If you are on a diet, A.A. Comeaux Park may not be the place for you this weekend.
The park will be hosting the 6th Annual Cake and Ice Cream Festival on Saturday.
It will be held from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m..
The festival is at the first pavilion on the left when entering the park. Next to the pavilion is a playground for the children to play on.
On hand will be 10 vendors, a fun jump and a water slide for the children - all free of charge
Abbeville Councilman Francis Plaisance is looking for people to make homemade ice cream for the contest.
There will also be a cake and cheese cake category . Judging will begin at 1 p.m. and the winners will be announced at 2 p.m.
If you are interested in making ice cream or want to enter a cake or cheese cake, you can call Abbeville City Hall (893-8550) or go by and pick up an entry form. You can also get an entry form at A.A. Comeaux Park Recreation Center all day.
