Hummer, tractor meet head-on near Abbeville

Hummer burst into flames

Wednesday afternoon, a Hummer and a John Deer tractor met head-on, causing the Hummer to burst into flames.
Michael “Black’ O’Bryan Sr., 61, was driving the Hummer and heading north on South Grosse Issle Road, behind Earl’s Furniture Store. O’Bryan, on a curve, went in the inside lane. At the same time he was driving inside, a green John Deer tractor was also making the same curve on the inside lane heading south.
The two met head-on on the curve.
The Hummer burst into flames at impact.
O’Bryan was able to exit out of the vehicle and escaped injuries.
Galvin Candelario, 48, was the driver of the tractor. He was not injured.
O’Bryan was given a ticket for careless operation.
Little or no damaged occurred to the tractor.
