Gueydan Chamber announced recipients

GUEYDAN - The Business Person and Volunteer of the Year recipients were recently awarded to Tisha Broussard and Nadine Lepretre. This annual award is presented each year in April.
The 2014 Chamber’s Business Person of the Year, Tisha Broussard is the owner and operator of The Gueydan HealthMart. Broussard opened over three years ago and has continued to have dedication and constant pursuit of excellence service for her customers. Through the years, Broussard has supported many local organizations, including the Gueydan Duck Festival and the Les Dames de Gueydan as well as the local schools.
Nadine Lepretre was chosen as the 2014 Volunteer of the Year.
Lepretre has made a significant difference in our community by her timeless efforts of volunteering as a chaperon, coach, Co-Captain of the Mardi Gras Krew and much more. There are countless ways she has given her time with creativity and fun.
Lepretre is a Gueydan High School teacher, she is married and has three children.
The awards were presented by Sheryl Portie, President of the Gueydan Chamber at the Annual Business Appreciation Luncheon held on Wednesday, April 30, at the Gueydan Civic Center.
The luncheon was designed to give appreciation to business owners and their employees for the hard work and dedication given to the community each and every day.
This year the luncheon was once again chaired by Allen Mayer.
Serving the spaghetti lunch were members of the Gueydan Chamber.
Cooking the lunch were members of the RTC Cooking team, Randy Primeaux, Ted Saltzman and Jimmy Wall.
