Vermilion Ducks Unlimited Chapter raised close to $150,000

The Vermilion Chapter Ducks Unlimited continues to grow in size and in contributions.
In 2012 the Vermilion chapter raised just over $60,000 at its annual DU banquet. Last year, the chapter had a great year and raised $95,000 for DU.
Because of its successful fundraiser that year, the Vermilion Chapter was recognized nationally by receiving DU’s President’s Top 100 Award. It is given to the chapter who had a successful fundraiser. The Vermilion chapter earned a spot in the Top 100 out of the more than 2,700 DU chapters nationwide.
Well, the year 2014, will go down as the best ever fundraiser for the Vermilion Chapter. It was held Thursday at the VN Center in Abbeville.
According to Derrick Davis, the DU Regional Director for southwest Louisiana, he is predicting the total amount raised Thursday night to be $150,000.
That would put the Vermilion Chapter in the top four chapters in Louisiana. The Lafayette Chapter ranks at the top in the state because it raises $1.4 million annually.
