Abbeville Police arrest man who allegedly took money off convenience store counter

Due to the community involvement, the Abbeville Police Department was able to make an arrest on the subject who took money from the Valero Store in Abbeville.
On the evening of March 27, APD received calls giving the identity of the subject’s photos submitted to the local media, identifying him as Gregory Girouard Sr., 46, of Erath. APD was able to locate Girouard who during the course of the interview admitted to taking the bank envelope containing the money.
Girouard was then booked on the charge of Felony Theft and transported to the Vermilion Parish Correctional Center.
APD would like to thank the local media and all the citizens who assisted in the apprehension of Girouard.
