Abbeville library having book sale in meeting room
You like to read but you do not want to pay a lot for books?
The Abbeville library is having its annual Spring Book Sale.
It’s the only place where you can buy hardcover books for 25 cents, paper backs for 10 cents, magazines for 10 cents and video for .50 cents.
Charlotte Trosclair, the director of the Abbeville library, said the books on the shelves of the library are weeded out and this is a way to keep books fresh on the shelves.
For the last week the book sale has been taking place and concludes on Monday.
Today and Monday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and, Saturday, from 9 a.m. until noon, the books can be found in the meeting rooms of the Abbeville library.
Volunteering to help sell the books are members of the Vermilion Parish Library Foundation. The volunteer group is manning the meeting rooms throughout the day.
Thomas Thompson is president of the foundation. He said the money generated from the book sale is going to go towards buying prizes for the libraries summer reading programs.
