Turning 104
Adles Perry, a life-long Vermilion Parish native, was born in 1910.
Perry celebrated his 104th birthday Monday. He was “blessed” with the presence of family and friends who joined him to share the milestone occasion.
“Adles means so much to so many,” family members said. “Therefore, all were so pleased and honored to share with him on this wonderful occasion and special day.”
Perry, who lives in Abbeville with family, spent most of his working years in the automobile industry. His birthday cake this year reflected that portion of his life. The cake featured “Perry’s Body Shop,” something family said he enjoyed seeing.
Perry’s family simply enjoys seeing him every day.
“It has been said of Adles that his presence is indeed a present to all who know him,” family said. “In his 104 years, he has created memories more beautiful than words could ever express. He certainly has and continues to make a wonderful and positive difference in other people’s live with his infectious smile, welcoming personality, gentle spirit, kind heart, sense of humor, love of life, blessings he has shared, and the special way he warms the hearts of those around him.”
