Donate your beads to Arc of Vermilion
Mardi Gras is over, you braved the cold weather and you caught beads and lots of them because you were one of the only ones catching beads in the 32 degree, wet weather on Tuesday. Now that you have a lot of them, what to do with them, you ask?
Donate them.
The Arc in Vermilion Parish is accepting any plastic beads that you want to donate. They are having a re-stock drive to replenish their inventory of beads, which are sold at two locations in Vermilion Parish.
The beads are de-tangled, sorted, repackaged and sold at affordable prices, proving employment opportunities for individual with disabilities in the process.
Scottie Daigle, the director the Arc in Erath, said the beads can be dropped off at two locations in the parish.
The Arc Resale Store on 2325 Charity Street in Abbeville is accepting beads from Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The main building in Erath at 809 South Severin Street is also accepting beads from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday though Friday.
