Maurice’s Wallace, Willie Broussard to be honored by Acadian Museum

Andy Perrin, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Acadian Museum, announced on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the Acadian Museum Café, 102 East Edwards, Erath, LA, at 4:00 p.m., the Acadian Museum will honor the brothers Wallace and Willie Broussard, long-time supporters of Cajun culture by inducting them into the Order of Living Legends.”
Wallace and Willie Broussard of Maurice, both Acadian preservationists and fluent in French, will be honored as Living Legends at the Acadian Museum in Erath at 4pm on Saturday, January 25th. Wallace, a former history teacher, coach, World War II veteran and town historian/antique collector, will be 90 years this month. Willie, a former math teacher, town manager, radio personality and song writer, is best known for his songs Bras Don Coush Coush, Put Christ Back in to Christmas, and Santa Clause was Seen One Night in Bayou Land."
The Living Legends series, free and open to the public, honors individuals who have helped shape and define the Cajun culture. The program is hosted by the Acadian Museum of Erath (acadianmuseum.com), a nonprofit organization, and is held at the Museum Café located next door to the Acadian Museum, 102 East Edwards, Erath, LA. Corporate sponsors for the program are the law firm of Perrin, Landry, deLaunay, Dartez & Ouellet and Envirochem of Erath. There will be a Cajun music jam session from 2 PM till 6 PM.
