Martha Ray Wilson

Gueydan: The family of Martha Ray Wilson announces her passing from this life on January 1, 2014 at the age of 69. Martha was born in Rosedale, MS to the late Jim H. Davis and the late Mary Ann Davis on July 14, 1944. She later moved to Holly Beach, where she operated the Four Corners Bar. She made her way to Gueydan, where she resided for the last 7 years. Martha loved to fish, pick shells on the beach, watch movies and spend time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Martha is survived by her three sons, Joe Wilson of Gueydan, LA, Keith Miguez (Wendy) of Orange, TX and Martin Miguez (Haley) of Sulphur, LA; two daughters, Roxane Mata of Lake Charles, LA and Kimberly Miguez of Gueydan, LA; two brothers, Bud Davis and Richard Davis both of Mississippi; two sisters, Della Hodge of Indiana and Ada Abshire of Gueydan, LA.; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Jim H. and Mary Ann Davis; sisters, Winnie Houser, Sis Olgesby, Emmer Jean Davis and Mary Jane Christian; one brother, Pat Davis.
Funeral services will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Gueydan on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Troy Duhon officiating. Burial will follow in Gueydan Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Gueydan on Friday, January 3, 2014 from 10:30 AM until 9:00 PM and will resume on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 8:00 AM until the time of her funeral service.
Carrying Martha to her eternal resting place will be Joe Wilson, Keith Miguez, Martin Miguez, Richard Davis, Neal Miguez and Lester Joe Olgesby. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Olgesby and Henry Olgesby.
