Kaplan State Bank elects two new board members

Vernon Johnson, president of Kaplan State Bank, announced today that Stan Hardee and Jacques Vincent have been elected to the board of directors of Kaplan State Bank.

Hardee is the owner of Hardee Home Center in Gueydan, Louisiana and Stanton Place Apartments in Kaplan, Louisiana. Hardee has also been an active home builder and commercial contractor for the past 37 years. He is the co-owner of Vermilion Mortgage Co., Inc. which has provided long term financing for many of the new homes built by Hardee.

Hardee is also active in the Kaplan community. He has served on several boards including; the Kaplan Chamber of Commerce, Vermilion Parish Economic DevelopmentBoard, Board of Trustees for Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital, and Board of Directors for the U.L.L. Foundation. He is an active member of the Abbeville Kiwanis Club where he chartered and served as the first advisor for the Kaplan High School Key Club.

Hardee holds a bachelors degree in business from D.L.L. and a MBA from LSU. At U.L.L. Hardee earned the distinction of being the 1966 outstanding U.L.L. graduate.

After completing his MBA at LSU, Hardee attended officer candidate school at Fort Benning, Georgia and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserve. He served 6 years in the Louisiana National Guard and ended his military career as Executive Officer of HHQ, 2nd Battalion, 156th Infantry Brigade.

Hardee is an active member of Kaplan United Methodist Church where he serves as chairman of the Administrative Council and the Board of Trustees.

Hardee and his wife Linda, the current Mayor of Kaplan, have three children; Stanton, Barrett, and David, as well as four grandchildren; Colt, Jake, Reece, and Katelyn.

Vincent is the owner of Vincent Funeral Home, having been involved in the business since 1989. He is a graduate of Kaplan High School and Commonwealth Morturary College in Houston, Texas.

At college, Vincent graduated as salutatorian, class president, and president of the Pi Sigma Eta faternity.

Vincent is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Louisiana Funeral Directors Association, and Southwest Funeral Directors Association. He is also a member of the Kaplan Chamber of Commerce, Greater Abbeville Chamber of Commerce, and Gueydan Chamber of Commerce and a board member of Limousines Limited.

Jacques Vincent resides in the Kaplan community with his wife Dawn Frederick Vincent and their two children, Hailey and Tyler.
