“He was a very well respected city official who took his job seriously and represented the people of District A with honor and dignity.”
KAPLAN - The town of Kaplan is in mourning after learning that Councilman Charles Morrison was found dead at his home over the weekend.
Morrison, 52, was in his first term as a councilman for Kaplan and had been on the council for just over a year.
“The city of Kaplan is heartbroken and saddened by the death of Councilman Charles Morrison,” said Kaplan Mayor Linda Hardee. “He was a very well respected city official who took his job seriously and represented the people of District A with honor and dignity. He was an asset to our community and will be tremendously missed by his many friends and family members.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.”
On June 10, a special Kapan city council meeting will be held to appoint his wife, Eva Dell Morrison to fill his seat.
Kevin Guidry is also a first-term Kaplan councilman. The two were good friends.
“It was an honor to serve with Mr. Morrison on the City Council. He was a man with a big heart, and will be missed by all who knew him,” said Councilman Kevin Guidry, District D, Kaplan, LA.
