Lady Panthers lose close one
The Delcambre Lady Panthers season hasn’t quite gone the way they had hoped.
This past Thursday was no exception, as the Lady Panthers lost a close game to Catholic High N.I by the final score of 33-31.
Right out of the gate it was a close game. At the end of the first quarter the Lady Panther found themselves down by only two points, 10-8
Nicole Bouillion was the star of the show in the first quarter for the Lady Panther. She scored all eight points for Delcambre.
The second quarter is where things got away for the Lady Panthers.
In the second quarter the Delcambre defense only allowed 11 points to Catholic High, but the offense for the Lady Panthers were only able to add two, thank to Emiliy Romero.
The third quarter was a defensive battle. The quarter saw only six total points scored.
Delcambre scored four of the six total points scored in the third quarter.
Tori Verret scored all four points for the Lady Panthers in the third.
The fourth quarter was the exact opposite of the third. Both teams saw double digits in scoring in the fourth quarter.
The Lady Panthers scored 17 points in the fourth quarter. They outscored Catholic High by seven.
Of the 17 points put up by Delcambre in the fourth quarter, Emily Romero scored 14. Thanks in large part to her six of eight shooting from the free throw line.
Despite outscoring Catholic High in the fourth Delcambre could not close the gap left by the second quarter and lost, 33-31.
Romero led the Lady Panther in scoring with 16. Nicole Bouillion was a close second putting up nine.
