Alayna Jayde Schexnider born

Jordan and Ashley Schexnider of Lake Arthur are announcing the birth of a daughter, Alayna Jayde. The baby arrived August 30, 2009 at 8:38 a.m. at Jennings American Legion Hospital. She weighed-in at seven pounds and four ounces, and measured 17 inches.

The mother is the former Ashley Melancon of Gueydan.

The baby has a sister, McKinsey Jolie Schexnider.

Also awaiting the new arrival, besides the parents, were the infant’s maternal grandparents, Keith and Raedona Melancon of Gueydan and her paternal grandparents, Jonathan Schexnider, Sonia Conner, and Nicole Bonin, all of Lake Arthur.

Great grandparents are Betty Vincent of Lake Arthur and the late Clifford and Lorena Melancon of Gueydan; Madeline

Bonin and the late Herbert “Tubby” Bonin and Ludrick and Thelma Schexnider, all of Lake Arthur.

Great great grandmother is Cecile Toups of Lake Arthur.

Godparents chosen for the baby are Corey Howard of Welsh, Tiffaney Bonin of Lake Arthur, Jeremy Melancon and Julia Faulk, both of Gueydan.
