Chief Adams named president of police association
Kaplan Chief of Police Boyd Adams was recently selected by his peers to head the Southwest Chiefs of Police Association.
Chief Adams will take office Jan. 1, 2014 and has been a member since he took office in 2010.
As president of the association, Adams will, represent approximately 75 Chiefs of Police and Police Departments in the 8 parish SW Region of Louisiana. Chief Adams will assist in Legislative Law enforcement Issues as well as hold a chair on the Executive Board of Directors for the La. Association of Chiefs of Police. .

Board members who will serve with Chief Adams are Chief Todd D’Albor with the Jennings PD, vice president; Chief Carroll Stelly, Rayne PD, treasurer; Chief Mike Suchanek, DeQuincy PD, secretary; and Chief Gerald Hebert, Erath PD, Sgt. at Arms.
Chief Adams was also appointed by the Governor in 2012 to the board of directors for the “Louisiana Law Enforcement Executive Management Institute” where he currently serves as Vice Chairman of the board.
