Moody and Elzey tie the knot

Abby Marie Moody and Robert Andrew Elzey, both of Baton Rouge, were married in a 1:00 p.m. ceremony May 28, 2011, at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church in Plaquemine, Louisiana. The Rev. Michael Schatzle officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. Charles A Moody II and Mrs. Cheryl Menard Moody of Baton Rouge. She is the granddaughter of Mr. & Mrs. J Gerald Menard, of Abbeville, and Mrs. Carol Moody and the late Mr. Charles A Moody of Lafayette.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. Robert B Elzey and Mrs. Mary Elzey of Baton Rouge. He is the grandson of Mrs. Gladys Jewell, the late Francis D Jewell, Mrs. Betty Heflin, the late Mr. Leman B Heflin and the late Mr. Robert N Elzey all of New Roads.

The bride was attended by her Maid of Honor Katie Hopper. Bridesmaids were Amy Rogers, Julie Tolson, Stephanie Joffrion, Allison Moran, Rebecca Day and Shannon Dowdy. Flower girl was Madison Jewel.

The bridegroom was attended by his Best Man, Mitchell Elzey. Groomsman were Charles A Moody III, Hosea LaFleur, Christopher Combes, Luke Gallman, Rhett Hughes and Jake Wilson. The Ring Bearer was Michael Jewel.

Ushers were Ryan Rogers, Phillip Rogers, Brad Barrois and Casey Tate.

Readers were Mr.s Bessie Tolson, the bride’s godmother, Mrs. Lisanne Labatut, the groom’s godmother, and Mrs. Cynthia Ross, a friend of the groom.

The Church Greeters were Anne Ciulla, Heather Stann, Laura Labatut and Ellen Moody.

A reception took place at Nottoway Plantation in Whitecastle. Following a wedding trip to Isla Mujeres, Mexico the couple will reside in Baton Rouge.
