Chief of Police Boyd Adams has issued the following statement: ANYONE DRIVING AROUND THE STREETS OF KAPLAN WILL BE CITED OR POSSIBLY ARRESTED. STAY OFF OF THE STREETS.
Due to the widespread flooding in all the Acadiana area, the Sunday edition of the Abbeville Meridional cannot be printed today because flooding in the printing facility.
Officials in Erath have called for a curfew that will begin at 10 p.m.
The curfew will last until 5 a.m. on Saturday.
Several roads in the town have flooded.
As of 11 a.m. Friday, Vermilion Parish Police Jury President Ron Darby has declared a state of emergency for Vermilion Parish as a result of severe weather.
