Vermilion Sheriff’s Office investigating car burglaries near Erath
The Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division is currently investigating several vehicle burglaries that occurred on Cupcake Road near Erath.
Sheriff Mike Couvillon says that the suspects gained entry into a number of unsecured vehicles and stole numerous purses, wallets and electronic accessories. The suspects then went to Dore’s Corner Store in New Iberia and used a stolen credit card to put gas in the vehicles listed below.
The vehicles are described as an older model Honda Accord (possible 2003-2007 model) with damage to the back driver’s side window and a burnt passenger side headlight.
This vehicle also has a green no insurance sticker on the back glass. The other vehicle is described as a Toyota Camry (possible 2007-2011 model). The driver of the Honda Accord appears to be a heavy set white male subject. The driver of the Toyota Camry is wearing what appears to be a “hoodie” or some type of jacket.
