Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office is asking if jewelry items look familiar; they were found on two bodies located in burned SUV
According to Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon, last Wednesday, at 1 in the morning, two people were recovered in a burning mid to late 90”s SUV (possibly GMC Yukon) on Claude Road, just south of North Vermilion High School.
Sheriff Couvillon says that on Thursday, an autopsy was performed on the two victims and it was determined that the bodies were that of a male and female subject however, race has yet to be determined.
Also during the autopsy it was discovered that the male subject was wearing a ¼” link style bracelet, a long rope chain necklace approximately 24”with a 1 1/2” by 3” cross with cubic zirconia diamond studs, a 20” link necklace, a tongue piercing with a ball stud and the female was wearing an “I LOVE YOU MORE” bangle bracelet, all of which appeared to be stainless steel.
Sheriff Couvillon further stated that during the course of the investigation, it was determined that the male subject was wearing a pair of Adidas Spring Blade tennis shoes, black with silver stripes or white with silver stripes and a size 10.
The Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division in conjunction with the La. State Fire Marshal’s Office is aggressively investigating this case and is desperately attempting to positively identify these two victims, Sheriff Couvillon is asking anyone who may have a missing family member, relative or friend they have not heard from within the last week who is known to wear these types of items to please contact the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division at 898-4403.
