Vermilion Narcotics Agents arrest man after altercation, nab two others after traffic stop

According to Sheriff Mike Couvillon, the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit made the following arrests for narcotics related offenses within the parish.
On Monday, June 29, agents received credible information that Kevin Frank (dob 10-20-79) of Abbeville, was actively dealing suspected marijuana at an apartment complex in Abbeville.
Upon agents arrival they approached Frank, who attempted to walk away when he saw agents walking toward him. Agents noticed Frank holding a small infant. He also had a black bag around his wrist, which was where the illicit drugs were allegedly located.
Upon confronting Frank, and advising him of why they were there, Frank asked if he could give the infant to the mother, at which time the agent advised him that would be fine. Frank attempted to pass off the black bag as well. When the agent advised him he could not relinquish the bag just yet, Frank reportedly became violent and began throwing punches at the agent. Both Frank and the agent tumbled down the stairs, at which time the agent was able to subdue him. Next to Frank on the ground was the black bag and several small baggies of suspected marijuana, which were packaged for street sale.
Frank was taken into custody and charged with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, resisting an officer by force, possession of a controlled dangerous substances in the presence of a juvenile, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a public housing complex, threatening a public official, battery of a police officer, and possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine.
On Tuesday, June 30, agents made a traffic stop on a vehicle in Abbeville, which resulted in the arrest of two men. After stopping the vehicle and obtaining permission to search, agents arrested Anthony Landry (dob 10-20-79) of Erath, for possession of methamphetamine, and Robert Guidry (dob 9-7-67) of Abbeville, for possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of a Schedule IV narcotic, illegal carrying of a weapon, and principal to possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine. Agents also located devices used to weigh the drugs for street sales. Agents said these devises are “cleverly” made to look like everyday items, such as cigarette packs.
