Two Vermilion Parish high school graduations are moving into gyms

Rain given the reason why

A couple of principals are not going to take any chances when it comes to high school graduations this weekend.
After checking out the weather for Friday and Saturday, two principals have decided to move graduation indoors.
Tonight at Abbeville High, Principal Ivy Landry has decided to move the graduation to the AHS gymnasium.
Landry said because there is a 60 percent chance of rain for Friday, Landry made the decision on Thursday to move it inside.
It will still begin at 7:30 p.m. but there will be limited seating.
Kaplan High, which also graduates tonight, has not made an official decision on where to hold graduation.
KHS Principal Dr. Janet Guerrinni said she will make the decision this morning after she hears the forecast.
If graduation is moved indoors, the school will call all of the graduates to inform them.
Despite where, the time will be 7:30 p.m.
Erath High Principal Marc Turner made the decision Thursday night to move graduation indoors on Saturday.
He said because of the high chance of rain, graduation will be Saturday in the gym. It will begin at 7:30 p.m.
There will be limited seating in the gym.
North Vermilion is having its graduation on Saturday in the gym, rain or shine.
VC will hold its graduation in St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church on Monday.
