Task Force busts 12 in Vermilion

According to Sheriff Mike Couvillon and Chief of Police Tony Hardy, the Vermilion Parish Municipal Narcotics Task Force made the following arrests for narcotics related offenses within the parish.
· Malachi Thornton, 27, arrested for Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II, (Crack Cocaine), Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I, (Marijuana), Transactions Involving Drug Proceed, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance within Two Thousand feet of a Public Housing Authority
· Terrance Thibodeaux, 27, arrested for Possession of Marijuana, (3rd Offense), Possession of a Firearm in the presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
· Jeffery Ledet, 38, arrested for Distribution of Schedule II, (Crack Cocaine)
· Donald Duhon, 31, arrested for Possession of Schedule I, (Marijuana)
· Brad Duhon, 27, arrested for Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile
· April Loignon, 24, arrested for Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile
· Mandy Menard, 34, arrested for Possession of Schedule I, (marijuana), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in the presence of a Juvenile
· Brandon Benoit, 35, arrested for several outstanding traffic warrants
· Corey Romero, 33, arrested for Failure to Appear for Trial for Criminal Trespassing
· Cody Zenon, 33, arrested for Non-Support, Possession of Schedule I, (3rd offense, Marijuana)
· Roderick Rice, 22, arrested for Failure to Appear for Possession of Schedule I, (Marijuana), Possession of Schedule I, (4th offense Marijuana), Resisting Arrest and Obstruction of Justice
· Derrick Landry, 40, arrested for outstanding Narcotics warrants for Possession of Schedule I, (marijuana), Possession of Schedule IV, (Alprazolam), and Possession with Intent To Distribute MDMA. While being taken into custody Landry attempted to discard more suspected MDMA pills and was found to be in possession of more suspected Marijuana. Landry was additionally charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute MDMA and Possession of Schedule I, (3rd offense Marijuana)
