Six assistant principal jobs available in Vermilion Parish

The Vermilion Parish School Board is taking applications for six assistant principal positions that are open in the public schools.
Applications will be taken until May 14 at noon.
The schools looking for assistant principals are:
• Cecil Picard Elementary
• Dozier Elementary
• Eaton Park Elementary
• Kaplan High
• LeBlanc Elementary
• North Vermilion High

School Superintendent Jerome Puyau expects there to be many applicants for the six positions. Last year, with only four assistant principal positions to fill, there were at least 16 applicants. Puyau said he expects more applicants this time.
LeBlanc Elementary, located north of Erath, has an assistant position available because Puyau transferred LeBlanc assistant principal Patricia Thibodeaux to Erath High School. She will be the new assistant principal at Erath High School.
The Erath High assistant principal job became available when EHS assistant principal Sandy Huval was named the new principal at Erath Middle School. Huval is replacing Lynn Moss, who will be retiring at the end of the school year.
North Vermilion High is looking for an assistant principal to replace Tommy Byler, who was promoted to principal at NV.
Dozier Elementary has an opening for an assistant principal because the assistant principal Natlie Hebert was promoted to principal at Seventh Ward Elementary.
There is an assistant principal opening because Kaplan’s assistant principal Dr. Janet Guerrini was promoted to principal at Kaplan High School.
There is an assistant principal position opening at Eaton Park Elementary because assistant principal Lola Vallaire-Thomas was promoted to principal of the school.
At Cecil Picard Elementary, assistant principal Marlene Primeaux is taking a position at the School Board’s central office, creating an opening at Cecil Picard.
