Shelby Mouton crowned Miss Gueydan

GUEYDAN - Last Saturday night was a dream come true for Shelby Mouton. For the first time she interviewed, walked and modeled as a contest for the Miss Gueydan Pageant.
Shelby Mouton is the 16 year old daughter of Jason and Abbie Mouton of Gueydan and Kristen Marceaux of Crowley. Shelby was crowned as the 2015 Miss Gueydan on Saturday, May 9, amongst family and friends. The annual pageant, sponsored by Les Dames de Gueydan, was held at 6 p.m. at the Gueydan High School Auditorium.
The newly crowned queen is currently a sophomore at Gueydan High School. She wore an elegant tan colored empire cut evening gown. The bodice of the gown was adored with gold and silver sequins.
First Runner-Up in the pageant was Ali Bourque, the 16 year old daughter of Monica Bourque and the late Frank Bourque.
Second Runner-Up in the pageant was Lauren Richard, the 16 year old daughter of Tammy Richard of Gueydan and Steven Richard of Destrahan.
