“These meetings are an opportunity for us to hear the concerns of our Veterans and to let them know we are here to do everything we can to help and assist them and their families,” said Sen. Perry. “The Veterans of this district and of this state sacrificed so much for our welfare, it is our responsibility to protect theirs.”
Secretary LeCerte added, “As Secretary of Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs and a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, I am extremely frustrated by the lack of transparency from federal VA regarding their current healthcare crisis. Federal VA officials need to engage Veterans in a two-way conversation and seek real solutions to these problems. On the state level, I will continue to meet personally with Louisiana Veterans so that I can learn about the issues they are facing and will continue to push my federal counterparts to start giving Veterans the care they deserve. I appreciate the support of Senator Perry and I look forward to meeting the Veterans of his district to learn more about how we can help improve their VA experiences."
All veterans and interested citizens are invited and encouraged to attend.
