Relay For Life set for April 24 at Kaplan High

American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Vermilion Parish to be held on April 24.
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Vermilion Parish will take place on April 24, 2015 from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. at Kaplan High School located at 200 E. Pirate Lane Kaplan, LA 70548.
The public is invited to join hundreds of volunteers and participants at this community event to celebrate cancer survivors, remember those lost to the disease, and take action to finish the fight against cancer.

Morrison, a Kaplan City Councilwoman and Kaplan Elementary School paraprofessional, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 1990. Simon, a veteran of the Korean War and a retired crane operator with Roy Young, learned he had prostate cancer in 2001. A hospital visit in February led to the discovery of Hepatoblastoma in 4-year-old Case. The daughter of Gerald and Kayla, Case attends Erath Headstart.
The opening ceremony, which includes a special Survivors and Caregivers Lap, will happen at 6 p.m. A Luminaria Ceremony to honor cancer survivors and remember those lost to cancer will take place at 9:00pm. The closing ceremony will be held at 6:00am.
