Nicholas Faciane of Abbeville arrested in Mexico
Nicholas Faciane of Abbeville is back in the U.S. after being arrested in Mexico.
The arrest ends three years Faciane being on the run.
The U.S. Marshal’s Officer said Faciane, 34, was arrested in Tulum, Mexico, about 80 miles south of Cancún. He faces 13 counts of Carnal Knowledge of Juvenile who was between the age of 13 and 17 years old.
According to the Riviera Maya News, police in Tulum received tip that Faciane was hiding in the town.
Those charges against Faciane date back to September 2010.
On Feb. 13, 2012, a Vermilion Parish Grand Jury indicted Faciane on three charges, dealing with a juvenile between the age of 11 and 14 when the crimes allegedly occurred. He was indicted with Sexual Battery of a Juvenile, who is under the age of 15 years old. He was also charged with Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile, and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile.
His bond was set at $80,000 and he was arrested by the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office on Feb. 17, 2012. He bonded out not long after being arrested.
The Riviera Maya News reported that Faciance was turned over to authorities at the U.S. embassy. He is back in the U.S., but has not yet been booked into the Vermilion Parish Correctional Center.
