Missing Kaplan woman calls family members

Kaplan Police said Desaree LeBlanc contacted family members over the weekend to let them know she is OK.

Lastr week, Kaplan Police Chief Boyd Adams asked for public assistance in locating a 31-year-old Kaplan woman whose whereabouts are unknown.

Kaplan Police indicated at the time that they are concerned for her "welfare."

Desaree Jewel Leblanc, 31, was described as a white 5'2" female who weighs approximately 150 lbs, and has brown hair and brown eyes. Leblanc was known to have left her home with a friend willingly on Wednesday March 5,2014, but has not been in touch with her family.

It was thought that Leblanc possibly could be in the Lafayette or Scott areas
