Many get sentenced at district court in Abbeville

Here are the court sentencing at the 15th Judicial District Courthouse in Abbeville.

Andre J. Evans withdrew his former plea of not guilty and entered a plea of guilty to the charge of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. A plea agreement was entered between the defendant and the State. The Court accepted the recommendation of the State and order the defendant to serve two years at hard labor to be served without benefit at the Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

Christopher Anthony Duhon withdrew his former plea of not guilty and entered a plea of guilty to the amended charge of two counts of attempted pornography involving juveniles. A plea agreement was entered between the defendant and the State. The Court accepted the recommendation of the State and order the defendant to serve, on each count, five years at suspended hard labor and five years supervised probation.

Samantha Ann Gaspard withdrew her former plea of not guilty and entered a plea of guilty to the charge of possession of a prescription drug with a prescription. A plea agreement was entered between the defendant and the State. The Court accepted the recommendation of the State and ordered the defendant to defer the imposition of sentence of three years at hard labor and two years supervised probation.

Andrew Petry, III withdrew his former plea of not guilty to a plea of no contest to the amended charge of theft under $500. A plea agreement was entered between the defendant and the State. The Court accepted the recommendation of the State and ordered the defendant to serve twenty days in the Parish jail with credit for time served.

Harold Gray withdrew his former plea of not guilty to a plea of guilty to the amended charge of theft in excess of $500. A plea agreement was entered between the defendant and the State. The Court accepted the recommendation of the State and order the defendant to serve two years at hard labor at the Department of Correction with credit for served since 3/5/2012.

Kevin M. Landry withdrew his former plea of not guilty and entered a plea of no contest to the charge of second degree battery. A plea agreement was entered between the defendant and the State. The Court accepted the recommendation of the State and ordered the defendant to serve three years at suspended hard labor and three years supervised probation.

Jack Richard, Jr. withdrew his former plea of not guilty and entered a plea of no contest to the amended charge of domestic abuse, battery. A plea agreement was entered between the defendant and the State. The Court accepted the recommendation of the State and ordered the defendant to serve 30 days in the Parish jail, suspended, and 12 months of supervised probation.

Robert Crooms, Jr. withdrew his former plea of not guilty and entered a plea of guilty to the charge of distribution of cocaine. A plea agreement was entered between the defendant and the State. The Court accepted the recommendation of the State and ordered the defendant to serve two years at hard labor without benefit at the Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

Brandon L. Landry withdrew his former plea of not guilty and entered a plea of guilty to the amended charge of theft in excess of $1,500. A plea agreement was entereed between the defendant and the State. The Court accepted the recommendation of the State and order the defendant to serve two years at hard labor at the Department of Corrections with credit for time served since 9/17/2012.

Daniel Paul Simon withdrew his former plea of not guilty and entered a plea of guilty to the charge of attempted possession of a firearm or concealed weapon by a convicted felon. A plea agreement was entered between the defendant and the State. The Court accepted the recommendation of the State and ordered the defendant to serve five years at hard labor, suspend all but three years at the Department of Corrections with credit for time served since 11/26/2012 and will be placed on three years supervised probation.

Brandi Buford withdrew her former plea of not guilty and entered a plea of guilty to the charge of possession of Lorazepam. A plea agreement was entered between the defendant and the State. The Court accepted the recommendation of the State and ordered the defendant to serve defer imposition of sentence of three years at hard labor and three years supervised probation.

Brandon Sonnier withdrew his former plea of not guilty and entered a plea of no contest to the amended charge of possession of methamphetamine. A plea agreement was entered between the defendant and the State. The Court accepted the recommendation of the State and ordered the defendant to serve three years supervised probation.

Wilbert “Bubba” Joseph Viator withdrew his former plea of not guilty and entered a plea of guilty to the amended charge of attempted possession of a firearm or concealed weapon by a convicted felon. A plea agreement was entered between the defendant and the State. The Court accepted the recommendation of the State and ordered the defendant to serve one year at hard labor at the Department of Corrections with credit for time served since 11/17/2012.

Kindal J. Bourque withdrew his former plea of not guilty and entered a plea of guilty to the charge of possession of hydrocodone. A plea agreement was entered between the defendant and the State. The Court accepted the recommendation of the State and ordered the defendant to serve a deferred imposition of the sentence of two years at hard labor and two years supervised probation.

Scotty Roy withdrew his former plea of not guilty and entered a plea of guilty to the charge of introduction of contraband in a penal institution. A plea agreement was entered between the defendant and the State. The Court accepted the recommendation of the State and ordered the defendant to serve six months in the Parish jail, suspended, and 12 months supervised probation.

Brad Plowden withdrew his former plea of not guilty and entered a plea of guilty to the possession of cocaine. A plea agreement was entered between the defendant and the State. The Court accepted the recommendation of the State and ordered the defendant to serve one year at hard labor at the Department of Corrections with credit for time served since 4/1/2013.
