Man wearing hoodie fires shots at Abbeville car; no one injured

A man wearing a black hoodie fired at least three rounds into a parked vehicle with people in it Monday morning on Dutel Street in Abbeville.
The gun shots, from a pistol, hit the side of the vehicle and just missed the driver and a passenger. After the shots were fired, the driver of the car drove off and the shooter took off running.
The Abbeville Police Department were called to investigate the shooting. They located several casings behind a house.
No one was able to identify the shooter.
If anyone knows anything about the shooting, they can call the police department at 893-2511.
The shooting occurred only eight days after one person was shot to death in Abbeville, not to far from where Tuesday’s shooting occurred.
One Abbeville resident, who grew up on Dutel Street, heard about the shooting.
Lawrence Levy III, who is a preacher, was raised not far from the shooting. He wants to do his part to stop the violence around his old neighborhood and in his city.
Levy is leading a “Stop The Violence” march and rally to be held in Abbeville tonight.
The march begins at 6:30 p.m on Dutel Street and goes to Green Street, Martin Luther King Drive and through Bailey Street and back to Dutel Street for a community prayer.
Levy wants to create a platform to end violence.
“We need to stand together as a whole I can’t do it by myself. I need help, so I’m hoping we see the murders and violence stop,” he said.
