Kaplan Chamber to host first Downtown Spring Stroll

The Kaplan Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the first Downtown Spring Stroll on Saturday, May 3.
The event will be held on Cushing Avenue from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will be free to the public.
This self paced stroll along downtown Kaplan is a collaborative effort of local businesses to not only display their eye-catching merchandise, but to bring awareness to all the musical talent, artists, and artisans Kaplan has to offer.
Musicians will include Ethan Hunt, Kyle Monceaux, Blake Sonnier, Mitch Broussard, Matt Boucher and Laura Couvillon, and Aneliese Hebert.
Local artists will have their paintings on display throughout the participating stores on Cushing, along with pottery by Gay Herpin and Neely Atkins.
Several demonstrations will be hosted throughout the day. Debbie Gardner will be giving instructions on how she makes wind chimes. Gay Herpin and Neely Atkins will be showing how to make clay items and Emily Trahan will have jewelry.
Any business wanting to join the Kaplan Chamber or participate in this event can get more information by calling the Chamber office at 643-2400, Christine Constantin at 643-2901, or the Kaplan Chamber Face Book page.
Refreshments will be sold throughout the day.

Participating in the event will be Seller’s, Southern Snoball, Body Trendz, Harrington’s Furniture, Emily Trahan Photography, Madi Claire’s, Abrom Kaplan Hopsital, Thrifty Way Pharmacy, Tan’s Haven and LaDeDa.
So come out support local businesses while enjoying a leisure stroll, listen to good music, view great artwork from all ages.
