Ross Granger

Granger selected grand marshal of Erath Homecoming Parade

ERATH - Erath High recently named 2015 graduate Ross Granger as their 2016 Homecoming Grand Marshal.
The parade is Friday.
Principal Marc Turner made the announcement September 20th on the school's Facebook. He stated, "It is our pleasure to honor Ross Granger during the homecoming festivities and to have him lead the parade through the streets of Erath."
Granger graduated from Erath High with a 4.0 GPA in 2015 and was one of the valedictorians of his class. He earned a baseball scholarship to LSUE, but that was put on hold when he was diagnosed with cancer in 2015. However, even with obstacles in his path, he has remained active in as many school and town events, as possible.
Throughout his years at Dozier Elementary, Erath Middle and Erath High he was always active in school events and programs. He was the Erath Middle and Vermilion Parish 5th grade Elementary Student of the Year in 2008 and in 2011, he was the 8th grade Student of the Year. In 2015, he was named the Erath High Student of the Year.
Through his high school years, he held office with the student council and on the E-Board. He was also active with multiple clubs. He was participated in sports playing both baseball and football.
Principal Marc Turner shared that Granger "truly an inspiration as well as a talented motivational speaker with the youth."
Turner ended his post saying that day stating, "Ross is a perfect representation of what a Bobcat should be. His determination, faith, and attitude are an inspiration to us all."
Ross is the son of Nathan and Dana Granger. His siblings are Mason, Hannah, Regan and John Eric. He is the grandson of Steve and Deana Granger and Stephen and Juliette Langlinais, all of Erath.
