Electrical work only thing left with Perry Bridge

It may open this week or next week

The Perry Bridge could open in the next couple of days or it could open next week.
Deidra Druilhet of the Department of Transportation and Development could not give an exact day of when the Perry Bridge will open.
She explained contractors are working on the electrical wiring part of the bridge. They are adding new wire with the existing old wire. Over the next few days they will be making sure everything works with the wiring before the bridge is opened.
“They are troubleshooting,” said Druilhet.
She said once contractors are confident the new electrical wires works with the old wires, the bridge will be opened. She said that could be at the end of this week or next week.
She squashed the rumor about the bridge opening for a month and then closing again to be painted. That is scheduled for 2020, she said.
Druilhet said once the Perry Bridge reopens, there are no plans to close it this year.
