Departments respond to fire in Abbeville early Monday

Multiple departments responded to a structure fire early Monday in Abbeville.
The fire occurred one the 500 block of South Young Street in Abbeville.
Abbeville Fire Chief Jude Mire said no on was inside the residence when the blaze began at 4:20 a.m.
Firefighters from Abbeville, Erath, Henry and Seventh Ward handled the call. The departments remained on the scene until after 6 a.m.
“They had the fire under control in about 45 minutes,”Abbeville Fire Chief Jude Mire said. “In all, they stayed about two hours to make sure that everything was secure.”
Mire said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
