Burned bodies located by North Vermilion High said to be male and female
The Vermilion Parish Sheriff ‘s Department is slowly trying to piece together what occurred last week on Claude Road, a mile south of North Vermilion High School.
Thursday an autopsy was performed on the two bodies, and the sexes of the bodies were determined. One was a male and the other was a female.
Sheriff Mike Couvillon said the department is trying to figure out who the two people are in the vehicle.
Despite now knowing the sex of the bodies, Couvillon said they still do not know who they are.
The bodies were located in a Chevy SUV on Claude Road after the Maurice Fire Department put out the fire of the burning vehicle.
It is still too early to tell if the vehicle was set on fire with the bodies in it or were they burned in the vehicle while they were alive.
The SUV looked to be stolen because the license plate was switched.
