Boffy wins BESE seat; Miguez remains state representative

Holly Frank Boffy of Abbeville returns for another four years as a BESE Board member from District 7.
Boffy picked up 71,777 votes with 100 percent of the precincts reporting, while Mike Kreamer had 62,549 votes.
Boffy is an Abbeville High graduate and a former teacher in Lafayette Parish.
Blake Miguez of New Iberia will return as state rep in District 49 (Iberia and Vermilion parishes).
Miguez had 85 percent of the votes with 8,634 votes. John Bering of Jeanerette had 1,557 votes or 15 percent.
Rep. Nancy Landry of District 31 easily won 9,464 votes to 1,734 votes. Landry serves the northern part of Vermilion Parish.
