Autopsy for body found under Abbeville home will be done on Friday

The Abbeville Police Department is not ready to say what the name of the person is that was found under a house on Ninth Street.
While there is speculation that the person found under the house is Eugene Williams, who is from Kaplan and does not live anywhere near where the body was located, Lt. David Hardy, of the city police, did not give a name of the black male found under the house.
Lt. Hardy did say an autopsy is expected to be done Friday on the body.
Lt. Hardy said officers will attempt to positively identify the person during the autopsy and determine if there was foul play.
Once the results of the autopsy are completed and released, Lt. Hardy will say how the person died and who he is.
The police have begun an investigation on how the male subject ended up under the house. Lt. Hardy said he is not ready to say if it is a homicide or not.
He did say the person under the house had been there a few days but was not able to pin point how long .
A neighbor, who lives next door, saw the shoes and the pants of the body sticking out from underneath the house.
Neighbors said the reason many think it is Williams is because the clothes of the person found under the house were the same kind of clothes of the missing Williams. It was reported that Williams had gone missing since Nov. 12. His girlfriend dropped him off in Abbeville and no one has heard or seen him since.
