Arrest made in Vermilion Parish after finding hydro marijuana

The Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit was able to get some “hydro” and “synthetic” marijuana off the streets of Vermilion Parish.
The Narcotics division executed two search warrants within the parish which resulted in the seizure of high grade marijuana, synthetic marijuana, pills and a weapon.
After executing a search warrant within the city of Abbeville, agents seized a large amount of high quality marijuana from Lien Nguyen (Date of Birth 7-21-77) of Abbeville.
Agents located two large mason jars full of “Hydro” marijuana and charged Nguyen with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, and possession of marijuana. A stolen handgun was also recovered in connection with the search.
The street value of the marijuana found was around $2,000.
Immediately following this warrant, agents attempted to stop a vehicle that had arrived to sell marijuana to suspects.
After the driver exited the vehicle to deliver the drugs, the narcotics agents approached the vehicle to apprehend the passenger.
Upon the passenger seeing this, he jumped into the driver side, and fled in the vehicle, crashing into one of the agents vehicles as he fled.
The driver, David Broussard (Date of Birth 5-20-92) of Abbeville was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana.
The passenger that fled is still being sought by the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office. He is identified as Fabian Mitchell, (Date of Birth) 7-23-82) of Abbeville.

Arrest made in Kaplan

The second search warrant was within the city limits of Kaplan, where agents seized synthetic marijuana, illicit prescription pills and a weapon. Arrested in this matter was Daniel Allen, (dob 9-5-84) of Kaplan.
He was charged with possession with the intent to distribute schedule I narcotic, possession of synthetic marijuana, possession of Lortab, and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance.
Also arrested this week on different charges were:
• Lana Laughlin, (Date of birth 4-1-84) of Erath, arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia
•Tera Mouton (Date of Birth 7-28-75) of Kaplan, arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to appear for arraignment for possession of cocaine, possession of a legend drug, and possession of marijuana.
