Abbeville under lockdown while police search for killers

Off Martin Luther KIng Drive in Abbeville, law enforcement agencies are going house to house searching for the two people who shot and killed an off-duty Vermilion Parish Sheriff deputy on Monday around 4 p.m.
The police went to Martin Luther King Drive because the off-duty police officer's truck was found on Martin King Drive and Miles Street.
The Abbeville Police Department has also issued a lockdown for the entire city, starting at 9 p.m.
Residents are asked to remain in their homes Monday night until two men have been arrested.
Law enforcement agents from around Acadiana are searching for the killers throughout Abbeville and the parish.
The Sheriff's Office has not released the name of the deputy or any details of the shooting. They will hold a press conference Tuesday at 1 p.m. about the shooting.
