Abbeville Police make two drug-related arrests; looking for other suspects

During the past week, the Abbeville Police Department has made arrests and investigated narcotics complaints.
On the night of Tuesday, Feb. 9, Shawn Romero of Abbeville was arrested during a traffic stop. During this investigation, officers recovered 20 packets of Synthetic Marijuana. Drug proceeds in the amount of $1,503 were seized in that case. Romero was booked into Vermilion Parish Correctional Center.
On the night of Wednesday, Feb. 10, Dylan Crawford of Maurice was arrested on a traffic stop where he was found to be in possession of Methamphetamine, pills and two firearms. During this investigation, $1,123 was seized as drug proceeds.
On the night of Thursday, Feb. 11, officers attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle which evaded the initial officers. Another officer soon observed a vehicle fitting the same description and proceeded to conduct a traffic stop. The officers cited the driver for a traffic violation and released the vehicle which was occupied by three male suspects.
The officers then searched the area of where the vehicle initially fled from officers. There the officers located a back pack on the side of the roadway. Inside the back pack, the officers located items of cocaine, marijuana, prescription pills and a firearm. This investigation is still ongoing and warrants are anticipated for the suspects.
