Abbeville man allegedly steals car from parking lot of Abbeville store

For the second time within a couple of hours of each other, a vehicle was stolen by someone at a convenience store in Abbeville.
A customer was inside a convenience store on Charity Street when he noticed his Dodge car was being driven off by a stranger.
The Abbeville Police located the customer’s vehicle at 401 South Lyman Street, 30 minutes after the car was reported stolen.
Arrested was DeMetrick Bessard of Abbeville. Bessard was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle.
Bessard’s address on the arrest report is the same address where the car was located.
Two hours before Bessard allegedly stole a vehicle, Devin Johnson was arrested and charged with car jacking for allegedly showing a gun to a lady and then driving off with her car while she was in the parking lot of a different convenient store outside the city limits of Abbeville.
