MMCS names ‘Student, Teacher, Supporter of the Year’

Maltrait Memorial Catholic School celebrated National Catholic Schools Week on February 1-5, 2016.
This year’s theme was Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service. During that week the school honored the recipients of the Educator and Supporters of the Year. They are Mrs. Caroline Broussard, Educator of the Year, and Kevin and Mandy Romero, Supporters of the Year. These individuals have demonstrated time and time again their dedication and commitment to Catholic Education through the service they provide to the students and the school.
On February 21, 2016 the Diocese of Lafayette will host a recognition ceremony at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette where Bishop Michael Jarrell will present their awards. The faculty, staff, and students are very proud and truly blessed to have these individuals as part of the Maltrait family.
Maltrait Memorial Catholic School are proud to announce Kelli Frith as Maltrait Memorial Catholic School’s Student of the Year. She is the daughter of Clint and Trisha Frith.
Kelli is a member of the MMCS Jr. Beta Club and currently serves as President, Yearbook Committee’s Co-Editor, MMCS Girls Basketball Team, and MMCS Girls Softball Team.
She has achieved academic success with awards received for the Principal’s List, Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies Fairs, and Jr. Beta.
Kelli has an impressive character and work ethic. She has proven her skills in leadership, service, and citizenship.
The school is honored to announce that Kelli has also been selected as the District Representative for the Diocese of Lafayette from the nominees in the eight civil parishes and will participate in the Regional Selection in Baton Rouge in February.
