Members gather for Abbeville Garden Club meeting

Abbeville Garden Club members gathered for their regular monthly meeting on March 23, 2015.  
Hostess for the event was Lauren Daspit. Gwen Lanoux served as co-hostess. Twenty-five members were in attendance along with two guests.
In keeping with the Louisiana Garden Club Federation’s theme, “Nature’s World Where Everything Belongs”, AGC members enjoyed a tour of Daspit’s beautiful gardens.  
Lanoux, horticulture chairman for Abbeville Garden Club, presented a program on “Passalong Plants.”  The information presented was obtained from the book, “Passalong Plants” by Steve Bender and Felder Rushing.  
Afterwards, members traded plants which had been propagated from their gardens, including strawberry plants, sago palms, crape myrtles, daylily and succulents.
Club members then discussed upcoming educational programs and events, specifically the Abbeville Garden Tour which will take place on Sunday, May 17, 2015.  
Ways and Means Chairman Liz Gremillion unveiled the poster for the tour and distributed tour tickets to club members.  Tickets for the tour can be purchased through members of the Abbeville Garden Club or at The Depot in downtown Abbeville.
The next Abbeville Garden Club meeting includes a field trip on April 20, 2015.   Members are planning to tour various nurseries in Forest Hill, Louisiana.
