Local sorority holds breast cancer informational

The November meeting of Kappa Zeta Sorority was held Thursday at St. Alphonsus Church hall as Hostesses Mary Beth Dupre and Linda Broussard invited Dr. Chris G. Trahan, MD FACS to inform those present of the “choices” women have when facing the diagnosis of Breast Cancer.

Dr. Trahan, presented a talk on “Surviving Beautiful - Advances in Restoration of the Breast”. This talk was attended by the Kappa Zeta members as well as their family and friends.
Approximately 50 ladies were in attendance, along with a couple of spouses, as all were educated on the choices, as well as the percentage of women who are not aware of the choices they have when considering surgery.

Several questions were presented as Dr. Trahan gave detailed information on the numerous procedures that can be done. Also in attendance were six breast cancer survivors.
This event was catered by Chief Bobby and Dot, courtesy of Dr. Trahan.
