The Golden Years
Fifty years, what an achievement?
Love like that, must be Heaven-sent.
For us three, the greatest day in history
Will always be the day you two met in ’63.
One year later in October ‘64,
You pledged your life in love, happiness and more.
Always willing to lend an ear,
To those of us you hold so dear.
Sunday mornings listening to Camey Doucet,
Saturday nights with Aunts and Uncles playing Booray.
Weekends at the camp on the Jean-Marie,
Every August a family trip to the beach in OB.
Sunday dinners with the fam,
Mom never needed Emeril’s BAM!
Feeding his animals come rain or shine,
Dad passing the bottle of his homemade wine.
Repairing cars, most of his life,
A successful business run by a man and his wife.
These precious memories of our past,
Will be in our hearts ‘til we breathe our last.
And even though half a century has passed,
Your love was made for a century to last.
Thanking God for the last 50 years and wishing you more wonderful anniversaries to come,
