FIEB 4-H News

The FIEB 4-H Club has been very busy during the month of November. The November club meeting was called to order by President Brody Trahan. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Lona Barlett, while London Abshire led the club in the 4-H Pledge. Cameron Simon read the minutes of the last meeting and took roll. When members’ names were called they were asked to tell that club something that they were thankful for.

The treasurer’s report was given by Gabe Broussard. I, Robin Guidry, reported that 6 pictures were submitted to the newspapers. The CRD report was given by Kylie Stelly and Korri Touchet. Our club hosted an out-of-uniform day and donated the collected money to the Vermilion Parish Jr. Leader Club for Heifer International. We collected $389.00.

Our club also held a fall dance and movie night. Old business was given by Hayes Abshire on the Alice Lancon Memorial Cooking Contest and the livestock show. Madelyn Campisi reported on the officer training meeting. The pumpkin workshop was given by Taylor Feverjean. Daimon Choate gave a report on the rice festival cookery contest. The fishing clinic report was given by Keisha Dartez. The meeting moved on to new business.

New business reports were given on the parish clothing contest by Mason Frick and the personal development contest Jon’Vea Stelly. Ricky Abshire reminded the club about the 4-H dog and pet show and Andrew Stelly on the bike rodeo. The rice and sugar cookery contest was given by Jace Hebert. Shailyn Gallet told the club about the upcoming electric clinic and Reece Hardee discussed the fundamentals workshop.

All leaders and guests were welcomed and Brody turned the meeting over to vice presidents, Ty Hebert and Krystianna Stelly for the month’s program. Cailyn Simon gave a project demonstration on how to make a Thanksgiving trail mix. Lexie Feverjean, Austin Stelly, and Anne Marie Broussard conducted a mock personal development contest to better prepare younger members for the real contest. For the game, the club played a Thanksgiving trivia jeopardy.

The meeting was turned over to the agents and the Cracklin was reviewed. The meeting was adjourned at 11:15. (article written and submitted by FIEB Reporter, Robin Guidry).
