VC travels to take on Highland Baptist
The Vermilion Catholic Lady Eagles and Eagles are traveling today to take on Highland Baptist.
Both VC teams are riding high off of victories over Gueydan, Tuesday night.
The Lady Eagles record stands at 18-3 overall and 4-1 in district.
Outside of the game against district rival Central Catholic, the Lady Eagles have won nine of their last 10 games.
“We just have to go out there and play the best game we can,” Lady Eagles Head Coach Kim Guidry said. “Our motto all year has been win the ones you are suppose to and try to steal some of the ones that are toss ups. Any away game is a toss up. So we are
just going to try to steal this game against Highland Baptist.”
If the Lady Eagles are going to steal this game away from Highland Baptist, they are going to need some solid play from their starting five: Ashailee Brailey, Katie Frith, Kaylen Collins, Ellen Langlinais and Leah Camel.
The Eagles are hoping to turn their most recent win against Gueydan into a winning streak by defeating Highland Baptist.
The Eagles desperately need this win if they want to get into playoff contention.
They are currently ranked 40th in the power rankings and only the top 32 make the playoffs.
